Recently launched from the landing pad of digital music comes Audiority’s Space Station UM-282. The Space Station UM-282 plugin finds its roots in the Ursa Major Space Station SST-282 from the early 80s.

The Space Station UM-282 emulation brings heavily desired digital echo and reverb right to you for a low price, reports Gear News.

It’s been just over 40 years since it hit studios for the first time, but the Ursa Major Space Station is still recognized as one of the best digital reverb and delay hardware units. It packs a vintage sound, and established producers and hobbyists alike cherish its unique characteristics.

Like the original hardware, the Space Station UM-282 emulation makes use of delay taps to turn a mono signal into stereo echos and reverbs. Eight taps are used for listening to the input signal, and we can adjust the taps in pairs with the knobs in the Audition Delay Mixer section. The remaining taps synthesize the reverb!

Space Station UM-282 includes 16 audition delay programs, and these are split between the Rooms, Combs, Delay Clusters and Space Repeats categories.

The maximum delay time of 255 milliseconds can be extended to 2.55 seconds in long mode. This yields a maximum reverb time of 3.5 seconds. The audio bandwidth sits at 20 Hz – 7 kHz, which is part of what gave the original its signature sound. In addition, there’s also a pair of low cut and high cut filters for further tone shaping.

The Space Station UM-282 plug-in can sync to the tempo of your DAW when in echo mode. This makes the Space Station UM-282 an amazing choice for creative delay options with multi-tap delay effects. On top of this, Audiority has also integrated a ducking feature.

At the low intro price, Space Station UM-282 looks like a very cool addition to any producer’s plug-in folder. If you’re into characterful, vintage delays and reverbs, this one should definitely be on your list.

Audiority Space Station UM-282 is now available for a price of €39 (£32.58). This offer lasts until the 28th of February 28, after which the price will increase to €65.

Space Station UM-282 runs on macOS 10.8 or higher (M1 supported) and Windows 7 or higher in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
