Based on sounds from an upright piano, sampled with vintage microphones, with the warmth of saturated tape and true LoFi vibes, LoFi Piano is a real experience for your listeners, reports gearnews.com

Steinberg’s LoFi Piano features 6 effects: Flutter, Compress, Saturate, Reduce, Filter and Reverb, Source: MusicRadar

The instrument features 6 different effects that send the piano into multiple modes of deterioration.

Up first is the Flutter effect. This mimics subtle changes in tape speed. Up next is Compress which gives a simple and easy method of squashing dynamics so the piano will sit better in your mix. Saturate brings distortion and saturation for exciting harmonics. Reduce will lower the bitrate to some severe levels. Filter is a high and low pass filter that narrows the frequency bandwidth for a telephonic effect. And, last but not least, reverb brings a universe of sound. It sounds great and is perfect for some laid back chewy tunes.

LoFi piano runs inside the full or free version of Steinberg’s HALion virtual instrument platform. It allows you to run HALion libraries, just without the paid features.
